How to Use the Database
Searching the Database
You can search the database using simple and advanced searches. In the dropdown lists on either the main search page or the advanced search page, select a search term by clicking on it. Select multiple terms by holding down the Control <Ctrl> button on your keyboard. You can also select terms in one or more of the boxes. The more terms you select, the narrower the search and the fewer resources will be returned.
Viewing Search Results
If you click on the title of a particular resource, you will see details about it, as well as any associated events which may hold additional information or describe a specific scheduled instance of the resource. Click on search results in any of the other columns (Performing Organization, Topic, Audience, or Resource Type) to perform another search on the selected item.
There is also a set of navigation links that appears at the left-hand side of the screen and allows you to reach different parts of this site.
Suggesting New Content for the Database
You can suggest new resources and events for the STRD or update resources and events already in the database. Use the form located on the Contribute page to submit any information about potential new entries for our database. Include as much information as you can. You can review the list of data fields used in the Database to see what sort of information is used in the STRD.
Editing an Existing Event or Resource
When you are viewing the "Resource Detail" page for a particular resource, you may provide edits if you see any incorrect information, or links to any obsolete websites. Click on the "Edit Resource Information" link to the right of the section where you see an error. Fill-in fields will appear where you can suggest corrections.
